We are looking for new crew members, that is, more first-class embedded developers for future assignments!

Our devs (aka "Rocket Scientists" – the Finnish word rakettitiede means rocket science in English) work as consulting developers/architects in client assignments. Since our clients hire our developers to solve demanding challenges, we expect you not only to have technical expertise but also to be enthusiastic about solving problems. Even though most of the work is done in teams, you can get the ball rolling by yourself if needed. You are not a wallflower and keep our clients up to date, advise them with best practices and evaluate how the work is going. 

There are are few things on top of mastering C or C++ that help out with succeeding in a client assignment: bare metal -experience, knowledge of real time operating systems (Zephyr, FreeRTOS) and Embedded Linux, handling UI work (Qt, QML) or navigating your way around the cloud (AWS, Azure). 

We have shorter spurts and continuous, several-year-lasting collaborations, and our clients range from startups to listed companies. There’s one common factor though: our beloved developers get to work with interesting challenges. And, of course, provide opportunities for professional development.

Instead, Rocket Scientists enjoy one of the best salaries in the business: the average yearly gross was about 91 000 euros in 2023 (2022: 91,5k).

Our clients are mainly located in the Greater Helsinki area. When working as a part of the client's organization, the ways of working are agreed with them. The trend seems to be that remote work is possible, but it is good to be prepared to visit the client’s premises 2-3 times a week. All this of course depends on the assignment. 

When physical togetherness is not possible, Slack, the cornucopia of conversation flows to you wherever you might be. The Rocket Science central administration governs gently and wisely from our headquarters in Kamppi and the doors are open to every rocket scientist as well.
